Romans 1

"For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God or gave thanks to him..."

Francis Schaeffer says that the way that you can tell if you love God every moment is if you are two things. One - contented. Two - thankful.

I think the idea is that these two actions should flow naturally in response to knowing that God is good and God is love.

What do you think? Does contentedness and thankfulness equate to love of God?

Couldn't one be content and grateful without God being the object of the gratitude?
